四半的大会
こんにちは。
冬の寒さも本格的になって参りましたが、皆様如何お過ごしでしょうか。
先日１１月２４日（月）は、当神社境内にて第四回大御神社奉納四半的弓道大会（県の公認大会）が行われました。県内外から３２チーム・２００人余りの方々が参加されました。
四半的とは日南発祥の宮崎伝統の弓術です。
標的の直径が４寸５分（約１３．６ｃｍ）、弓矢の長さが４尺５寸（約１．３６ｍ）で、４間半（約８．２ｍ）先にある標的に向かって正座姿勢の状態で弓を射るもののことだそうです。1人が30本射て、すべて当てた方のみ個人戦に進めます。またグループ戦もあるようです。
当日は、風のない穏やかな冬晴れに恵まれ、絶好の大会日和となりました。
大会が始まると皆様とても真剣な表情で的に向かっておりました。次々と矢を的中させていくレベルの高さにとても驚きました。
試合をされていない時間、参加されている方々はとても楽しそうにお食事をしたり会話を弾ませていらっしゃいました。私は御守り所から、すれ違い際に「どこから来たとね～」「鹿児島よ～」と全く面識のない方同士で気軽に会話をする方たちを拝見し、とても心が温まりました。
もともと四半的弓道は、１日の農作業の疲れを癒し、近所の人たちとのふれあいの一つとして伝えられてきたようです。皆様の明るい楽しそうな表情から、四半的は大事なコミュニケーションの場としても受け継がれているのだな、と実感致しました。
四半的は老若男女、年齢を問わず楽しめるスポーツです。興味のある方は是非宮崎の伝統に触れてみてはいかがでしょうか。
