ドラゴンボール（龍神の卵）か！ 境内より古代遺跡の発見！
ついこの間咲いた桜が、今では花を散らし、新緑を覗かせています。
季節が移り変わるのは、早いものです。
さて、先日、境内西側のさざれ石（神座）の前にあった、水溜りの土を退かす作業を宮司自ら、三日間にわたってしました（宮司は以前からこの場所が何となく気になっていたそうです）。
水を含んだ土を丁寧に取り除いていきますと、出てきたのは、すり鉢状の丸い穴（径２．５メートル・深さ１．５メートル）で、壁面には渦巻き状の線が刻まれており、そしてその底の部分には卵型の石（径が長い部分で１メートル、短いところは０．７メートルくらいあります）が座っていました。
これは自然にできたものではなく、明らかに人の手によりできたことが明白です。
宮司はさっそく熊本におられる日本巨石文化研究会の先生に伺ったところ、
「当時の信仰からして、おそらくすり鉢はラインから言っても龍であり、中心に置かれている石は龍の卵でしょう。
そして、それは今からさかのぼる事一万年前ぐらいの遺跡である可能性がありますよ」
とのこと。
近々、先生もおいでになり、本格的に調査をされるそうです。
当社では、八年前に境内拡張をした折にさざれ石が発見され、今回もまた新たな大発見となりそうで、調査の結果を今から楽しみにしております。
私も長年神社にお勤めさせていただいておりますが、次から次に驚かされるばかりです。
