On the New Year of 1998,the coldest day in that winter,when a chef priest of　this shrine was purifying himself with the cold seawater in the very early morning, he　saw an image of Dragon(Shi-shi in Japanese)flying high in the sky of brilliant sunrise. 　He thought it was a special message or revelation from the Goddes, then he named the lion "Tensho Shishi", a flying lion in the sky. 　As a dedication to the Goddess, he newly created "Tensyo Shishi Dance" and introduced it at the autumn festival in the following year. This is an interesting origin of this dance. 　The dance is preserved and performed by local volunteer people.
